Takoradi Technical University Pre-HND Access Programmes
The above-named programme has been designed to provide an opportunity to students with Technical/Vocational educational background to pursue a one-year Access Course in English Language, Mathematics and Science.
The Final Examination will be conducted by the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) after which successful applicants shall proceed to enrol in the Higher National Diploma Programme. For a candidate to qualify to be admitted to the HND programme he/she must obtain a minimum pass of 50% in each of the three (3) subjects namely: English Language, Mathematics and Science.

Equivalence of SSSCE Grade to WASSCE Grades
Takoradi Polytechnic uses the new grading system of WASSCE for the selection of candidates and with this system, an aggregate of 36 is the minimum entry requirement for all programmes. The following table shows this new grading system and the SSSCE equivalent grades.

Candidates must:
a. have at least four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes or four (4) G.C.E ‘O’ Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
b. have at least three years working experience in the Tourism industry and
pass a written examination and interview.
