Good average

Can I offer a degree program through KNUST distance education after SHS?

No, you cannot enrol in KNUST IDL’s undergraduate program right after SHS with your WASSCE results. However, you can apply for their Diploma program which lasts for about 2 years and top up right after that for another 2 years to get your degree.

I recommend this route if you did not get an entry at your preferred institution but your grades can get you into KNUST IDL.

Application Fee for KNUST IDL

For our Ghanaian applicants, the application fee is GHC 150.00,

and for international applicants, it’s US$ 150.00.

How much is tuition for Top-up Undergraduate Degree Programs in KNUST?

Tuition fees at KNUST’s distance learning vary depending on the program and year:

Year 1: Ranges from GHC 3,718.51 to GHC 5,790.01
Year 2: Ranges from GHC 3,718.51 to GHC 7,767.34
Year 3: Ranges from GHC 4,037.84 to GHC 7,943.34

How do I purchase an e-voucher online?

Ghanaian applicants can easily purchase a distance learning e-voucher from Ecobank, GCB, or Consolidated Bank Ghana – CBG.

Alternatively, follow these simple steps:

Dial (*447*160#) on any Ghanaian network.
Choose option 2 for Forms and E-vouchers.
Select KNUST (option 2).
Pick the program category (option 1) for Top-up Undergraduate Degree IDL.
Check the cost and select option 1 to proceed.
Enter your first and last name, and continue.
Finally, select option 1 to confirm your payment after reviewing your transaction details.

How to Apply Online

Follow these steps:

Visit the KNUST Admissions portal.
Log in using the serial number and pin from your e-voucher.
Select DISTANCE LEARNING MODE (Take note).
Complete and submit the online application.
Print a copy of your online forms, place it in a self-addressed EMS envelope, and send it to: THE DIRECTOR, INSTITUTE OF DISTANCE LEARNING, KNUST, KUMASI, GHANA. Include all relevant certificates and documents.
Don’t forget to include your HND/Diploma certificate if you’re applying for a Top-up Undergraduate Degree (in PDF format).
